Ruth Beker is a well known photographer and poet and has been photographing for the past 15 years.
She grew up in Seattle, Washington, graduated the University of
Washington with a degree in journalism and literature and now lives in
Kfar Shmaryahu, Israel.
Ruth finds beauty in the simplest of things. Her photographs reflect
the great affection felt by the photographer-poet for her subjects. As a
poet, Ruth has a great awareness of the world around her. The photographs
reflect this perception in a combination of whimsy and irony.
Ruth's cards are sold in gift, flower and book stores in America, Canada, Germany and Sweeden. In Israel they are sold in Steimatzky, the leading book store chain, Tel Aviv Museum gift store and the Eretz Yisrael Museum gift store in Tel Aviv and ID Design Israel.
The American Folk Art Museum in New York bought cards from her Christmas Collection.
Her images have been purchased by leading European card companies.
Her poetry has been published in some of the leading poetry magazines and in several
anthologies in America and Israel. Her poems have won
awards.
